This is my only Boston area open mic and it’s quite handy for players that work in town and come over to play and grab a bite. Some of the best bands in NE play Joe's 7 nights a week. We started this in March of 2010 and it’s done quite well, especially for a Monday night.  You can always get a slot here, it’s laid back and I tend to get lots of newcomers all the time. I hear more variety of music here, as you’d expect in a city room. Sign up starts around 6:15. It’s a small, square space so you have a “captured” audience. The authentic Memphis style barbecue is a huge draw, it’s really one of the best anywhere, the crowd is appreciative and the staff is friendly.
